Prevalence and patterns of drug use expert meeting 2021

The 2021 annual expert meeting on the EMCDDA epidemiological indicator ‘Prevalence and patterns of drug use among the general population’ (often referred to as the 'General population surveys indicator') takes place on-line on 30 and 31 March.

The meeting brings together experts from all EU Member States, Norway and Turkey, Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) and European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) countries, Russian Federation and Switzerland. These regular meetings on the indicator change their focus from year to year. This year the focus will be on the impacts COVID-19 might have had on drug using patterns and how countries had to innovate on the methods applied. The second day will be dedicated to map how information on the patterns of cannabis use is collected at national level (both in general population surveys and targeted surveys) and to emerging trends identified, like the use of psychedelics or the (mis)use of medicines.
